Linda showed reporters a faulty solenoid valve disassembled from a 0R-3190 injector (general part number 0R-3002). The surface of the solenoid valve coil was blackened, and there were obvious signs of burning. "This is a typical case of solenoid valve coil burnout caused by high-temperature operation," Linda said. She also pointed out that some users do not pay attention to the maintenance of the electrical system, which will also accelerate the failure of the solenoid valve. For example, failing to clean the electrical connectors regularly will lead to dust accumulation and poor contact, which will affect the normal operation of the solenoid valve.
To solve the solenoid valve failure problem, Linda put forward three suggestions for users. First, avoid long-term high-temperature operation of the equipment. If the equipment needs to work continuously for a long time, it should be shut down for rest regularly to reduce the temperature of the injector and solenoid valve. Second, regularly inspect the electrical system of the equipment, clean the electrical connectors, and replace the aging lines in a timely manner. Third, when the equipment has symptoms such as unstable idling, sudden shutdown, or failure to start, it should be inspected in time to determine whether the solenoid valve is faulty. If the solenoid valve fails, it should be replaced with a genuine Caterpillar solenoid valve.
