The South Sudan workshop compared vehicle maintenance records with refuelling history and the timing of injector complaints.
This created a practical question: did the affected vehicles share a particular fuel source or fuel-handling period?
Samples from relevant supplies were retained for appropriate analysis where available.
The team also checked whether additives or mixed fuel sources had been introduced without documentation.
Why the High-Pressure Pump Was Included
If fuel lubricity is unsuitable, the concern is not limited to the injector.
High-pressure pump components may also operate under fuel-lubricated conditions depending on system design.
The workshop therefore inspected available pump evidence rather than treating multiple injector wear findings as isolated events.
This system-level view helped distinguish a possible fleet fuel-quality problem from a batch of unrelated injector defects.
South Sudan’s Supply Chain Was Part of the Case
Transport operations in South Sudan may rely on fuel stored, transferred or purchased through different logistical routes.
The technical lesson is not that one national market has inherently poor fuel. The relevant factor is traceability through a particular fleet’s actual supply chain.
The workshop began recording fuel source alongside injector and filter findings so future wear events could be compared against documented operating history.
